A few years ago I decided to leave a
successful career as a technology consultant to become a financial planner. I
have always enjoyed helping friends make important decisions about their lives
and finances. And while financial planning is very rewarding, I have found that
I can make an even bigger impact by helping other planners become more
effective in serving their clients.
It all started when I signed up my first client. Like most independent
financial advisors, I reached for my paper forms and started filling them out
by hand. After 20 minutes of looking at my client database and transposing the
data from my computer to paper, I stopped and said, "there's got to be a better
way! Why can't i just print out the forms with the data in my database?".
In today's age of automation and technology, why are we filling out forms
by hand? It is amazing how overlooked financial planners are when
it comes to technology solutions. One would think that given how hard we work
to earn our client's trust and confidence that managing paperwork would be a
breeze. Sure, many companies provide fillable forms on their website, but that
means you have to go to several websites just to get the forms you need. Plus,
you still need to fill out those forms by hand or by typing. Even worse, how do
you know when the forms have been updated? (Nobody wants to ask a client to
sign a form twice because the first form was outdated.)
That's why my partner and I developed Quik! We envisioned having a single
website to find, subscribe and download forms and a software
program that connects directly to my database to pre-populate my forms.
And, we wanted everything to be extremely easy to use. Well, that is exactly
what we built with the Quik! Forms Library and Quik! website.
I hope you will take a minute to look at how we're making
