In the year 2000 I decided to leave a successful career as a technology consultant to become a financial planner. I always enjoyed helping friends make important decisions about their lives and finances, and becoming a financial advisor was a perfect choice for me. As I began working with my first clients and sat down to fill out the forms, I immediately realized how inefficient the paperwork process is. After 20 minutes of looking at my client database and transposing the data from my computer to paper, I stopped and said, "There's got to be a better way! Why can't I just print out the forms with the data in my database?".
With no viable solutions available in the marketplace, I called my technology partner and we decided to build a solution for my practice. As I showed my solution off to some of my peers, they all asked one question: 'When do we get a copy?', and Quik! was born. A few years later, thanks to some early success with this new service offering, I decided to retire from financial planning and focus on helping other advisors become more efficient.
